“As it turned out, there were actually a surprising number of perks to being a ghost.”

After a mystical mishap leaves Asher and Meleya stranded, they find themselves on a dangerous mission filled with dark spirits, wild magic, and a surprising number of stampeding draconic buffalo.

Later, Asher finds he can no longer run from his destiny. He journeys to the Dragon Isles, where he must face one of the realm’s most impressive fighters in a duel to the death. As for Meleya, she and the Knights of the Torch continue to unravel the mysteries of the Gray Ones as they prepare to battle them on the night of the coming convergence of mythic stars.

The whole crew is back and ready to fight some monsters! Once again, Asher and Meleya trade off every other chapter in a tale that’ll have you leaping out of the dragon saddle.

This series consistently gets better with each installment and the quality of the audiobooks voice acting has legitimately ruined my standards for other audio books…

If you’re looking for near Stormlight Archive world building, told in half of the time, yet not feeling rushed, oh baby this is the series for you.

I especially appreciate the heart and soul that goes into the Guide to Evgard and the extra illustrations that go into the lore. The authors clearly want to give a Special Edition experience for a Paperback pricetag, and it serves the consumer and the story, SO. SCORCHING. WELL.
